IBUS was established in 1992 by Onno Husken, the former CEO of Wereldhave and Kempen & Co. After a brief period of advisory activities for a number of regulatory bodies and institutional investors, the first real estate funds were offered from 1994 onwards. The name IBUS originates from ‘Institutioneel Beleggen in de United States’ or institutional investments in the United States. This explains IBUS’ original focus on the US real estate market. From the late nineties onwards, a number of European countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the Netherlands were added. Since 2004, IBUS has also been active in Asia, through its activities in Vietnam.
After almost 15 years in Hoofddorp (Netherlands), we moved offices to Amstelveen (Netherlands) in 2007. IBUS celebrated its 15 year anniversary in 2008.
